ACC is hosting an exciting new event at the ACC Asia Conference 2018 — the ACC Innovation Challenge! This ACC version of a competitive pitch competition will include the most innovative startups from around the region, who will pitch their cardiovascular product or service to a live audience and panel of international judges. Companies will be selected based on the ingenuity of their product or offering and its ability to solve a problem or meet a critical need in cardiovascular health in ways such as, but not limited to: leveraging digital health platforms, telemedicine ideas, or wearable technologies.
Two winners will receive an opportunity to elevate their vision through international coverage and a cash prize. This event will be a unique opportunity not only for participants but also for the audience to meet innovators who are changing the future of cardiology.
Criteria for Eligibility in the Asia Regional Conference Innovation Pitch Challenge:
- Company must have a product or service relevant to cardiovascular health
- Must be a registered company and company should have been in existence in its current form for no more than 5 years
- The innovation must be categorized as digital health, health IT, medical devices or diagnostic
- Each company may only enter one innovation in the challenge
Format for the competition:
- Each company will have six minutes to present their innovative product/offering and then four minutes of Q&A with the panel of judges.
- Company representatives will have access to A/V for slides and may present in either English or Chinese.
- Participating startups to submit pitch PowerPoint presentations decks by November 5, 2018 to Elizabeth Otter at eotter@acc.org

- This form will be scored by a subset of the competition's reviewers following evaluation criteria

Logistics Guide:
- The pitch competition will take place on Sunday, December 2, at 10 o'clock at the Kerry Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai.
- Selected startups are expected to be in Shanghai the day before the pitch challenge in order to participate in practice run of challenge.
- Selected startups are responsible for all costs associated with travel to and lodging in Shanghai.
- Companies selected to the competition will receive free admission for up to 3 company employees, including the Challenge presenter, to the Asia Regional Conference.
- Each participating company will be scored by the panel of judges on a scale of 1-5 for the attractiveness of their product and its ability to address a critical need in the delivery, treatment, or management of cardiovascular health.
Prize Package:
- The winner with the top score will:
o Receive a cash prize of 50,000 RMB
o Be featured on the ACC's website and social media outlets
o Have a brief interview published in the ACC's international newsletter, distributed to over 17,000 practicing cardiologists outside of the United States
- The second-place winner will:
o Receive a cash prize of 25,000 RMB
o Have a notable mention published in the ACC's international newsletter
